Cluj-based music festival, Electric Castle, has received the title of Europe’s Best Medium Sized Festival, from the European Festival Awards for 2019.
The festival has been running since 2013, and is hosted at Banffy Castle near to Cluj-Napoca, which is a historic site. Some of the funds generated via the festival, are reinvested into the restoration and preservation of the site in Bontida, which has history dating back to the 1300’s.
2019’s edition featured artists such as Florence + The Machine, Limp Bizkit, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Bring Me the Horizon, among many other household names.
The festival has been shortlisted every year for awards issued by the European Festival Awards, but this is the first year in which it has actually won the award.
Electric Castle will be taking place in between 15-19 July 2020, and already has a number of big names, in including Twenty One Pilots.
